Polyte Solet is one of the world''s most talented wood sculptor and yacht builder. During one of his journeys through the South Seas, he met the beautiful coasts of Chile, whose exuberance of wild nature inspired him to settle down and start carving the fabulous native woods. Solet shows his great artistic senses by combining natural wood and the unique shapes of Mother Nature. The hydrodynamic shapes of marine mammals are explored to create warm and welcoming feelings in every single artwork which blends into any environment or decoration style.
Using the technique of laminating and gluing the wood used in yacht construction, he reaches a new level of beauty and strength in his sculptures by maximizing the freedom of forms and shape with incomparable durability. Special attention is given in his creations to the natural beauty and strength of reforested Chilean Native woods, Lingue (Chilean hardwood) and Pino (type of pinewood).
