Situated at the tip of Round Island in the straits of Mackinac, this handsome lighthouse from 1895 was discontinued from service in 1947. Being left unattended for years caused this venerable beacon to fall into extreme disrepair and near collapse. Intense efforts by local groups, conservationists and government agencies resulted in the complete restoration of this magnificent structure, which sits proudly today as a focal point on Round Island.
