Built in 1858 to replace a smaller and less efficient lighthouse, Pensacola Light stands 160 feet tall with a first-order Fresnel Lens that casts its bright beacon 27 miles out to sea. Surviving bombardment during the Civil War and numerous attacks from Mother Nature, the lighthouse stands strong and is an active aid to navigation today.
